“My plumber told me I needed to get a water softener instead of an electronic descaling system.” Ahh, yes. We hear this often. There are two primary reasons why homeowners are advised as such by their plumbing professional. It could be that their plumber is simply not familiar with how an electronic descaling system works. Or, it could be that their plumber gets a commission on each referral for a water softener system and/or on each one they install.
If your plumber recommends a water softener instead of an electronic water descaler, don’t hesitate to ask them why. You may even wish to bring up some of the benefits of an electronic descaling system such as the fact that it is a limescale eliminator that is effective in water scale removal and prevents new scale from forming. An electronic water descaler is also an ecofriendly water softener alternative.
